Authentics
The Program
THE MISSION
AUTHENTICS Basketball exists to develop confident, disciplined athletes who stay true to who they are on and off the court.
Our mission is to create a culture built on hard work, discipline, development, and authenticity, where players are challenged to grow as competitors, leaders, and people. We believe basketball should teach more than wins and rankings, it should build character, confidence, resilience, and community.
At AUTHENTICS, we compete with intensity, respect the game, support one another, and represent something bigger than ourselves. Every player is encouraged to lead authentically, work relentlessly, and carry that mindset into every part of life.
AUTHENTICS Basketball
Identity Over Hype.
“The goal isn’t just to build better players. It’s to build authentic, confident young men.”
THE LEADERSHIP
TREVAN MARTIN - Head Coach/CoFounder of AUTHENTICS
-
Trevan Martin grew up in Encinitas, California, where basketball became a part of his life at a young age. His passion for the game was shaped through the relationship he shared with his father, a former collegiate basketball player and high school coach who introduced him to the game early on.
Trevan began playing club basketball in 4th grade and quickly developed a deep love for the process, competition, and discipline that basketball demanded. What started as a shared passion eventually became a foundation for leadership, identity, and purpose both on and off the court.
-
Trevan played AAU basketball for Gamepoint Basketball (top 10 nationally for his 15u-17u years), competing on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit against some of the top players and nationally ranked teams in the country throughout his high school career.
At Santa Fe Christian School, he was a four-year varsity basketball player who helped lead the program to:
• Two CIF San Diego Division I Championships
• The program’s first Open Division playoff appearance
• A CIF Division I State Championship titleTrevan continued his basketball career at Azusa Pacific University (NCAA DII) from 2021–2025, where he was known for his defensive mentality, discipline, and commitment to being the hardest worker on the floor. He helped the program to:
• Three NCAA West Regional Appearances
• A PacWest Tournament Championship title
-
Throughout his basketball journey, Trevan faced multiple setbacks that tested both his confidence and perseverance. During high school, he underwent a knee surgery and foot surgery before later facing another knee surgery during his collegiate career.
Those experiences deeply shaped his perspective on leadership, discipline, resilience, and authentic confidence. They taught him that growth is not built only through success, but through the ability to continue showing up through adversity, setbacks, and difficult seasons.
That perspective continues to shape the culture and foundation of AUTHENTICS today.
-
After graduating from Azusa Pacific University, Trevan returned to youth basketball coaching through the California Bearcats AAU program, where he coached the organization’s 8th grade boys team.
He also returned to Santa Fe Christian to coach within the basketball program at the Freshman, JV, and Varsity levels, helping contribute to another Open Division playoff appearance.
Trevan’s coaching philosophy is centered around confidence, discipline, accountability, and authentic development. His goal is to challenge players to grow both on and off the court while creating an environment built on consistency, leadership, and belief in one another.
-
AUTHENTICS was built from the belief that basketball should develop more than just talent.
After experiencing both the highs of elite competition and the adversity that can come with the game, Trevan became passionate about creating a program where players are developed with confidence, authenticity, discipline, and long-term growth at the center of it all.
His goal for AUTHENTICS is to help athletes become more skilled, more disciplined, more resilient, and more confident not only as players, but as young men.

BE A GREAT TEAMMATE
COMPETE WITH PURPOSE
THE WORK WILL SHOW
-
AUTHENTICS was created to build more than basketball players.
The vision behind the program is to create an environment where athletes are challenged, developed, supported, and led with confidence and authenticity at the center of it all. Through every season — the highs, adversity, growth, and setbacks — the goal is to help players develop not only as athletes, but as disciplined and confident young men.
This program is rooted in the belief that real development happens through consistency, accountability, resilience, and the way we show up every day.
